A member asked:

Dr tested me for cushing's syndrome due to my appearance & symptoms, but my blood tests showed low cortisol. can addison's disease present the same as cushing's?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unusual: Addisons is from low cortisol levels and usually presents with weight loss, low BP hypoglycemia, fatigue and skin bronzing. If your symptoms are different need to look for other reasons for low cortisol like medications or other substances. Cushings usually has weight gain in trunk, high BP, hyperglycemia and enlarged fat pad at base of neck due to excess cortisol from internal or external source.
