Sure, but....: Strep, even recurrent strep, is usually sensitive to basic penicillin based antibiotics. Clindamycin is a stronger medicine, one we usually use for more significant infections. If he gets another bout, consider tonsil removal, or make sure the throat culture checks for antibiotic resistance.

Only your doctor can: Only your child's doctor can answer that, based on close follow up. If it exists at all, pandas is very rare. We sometimes prescribe Clindamycin for difficult, or resistant, strep infections, after which, if symptoms prevail, your child would need follow-up.
