My 6 yr old has a gum boil that has popped on its own but keeps filling back up. dr gave him 10 days clindamycin on 12/13. the dentist doesn't have an appt until thurs or fri. is it safe to wait if he is on antibiotics and has no fever or pain?

Yes: I would say as long as what appears to be the infection isn't worsening in size, pain, or fevers then it should be Ok to wait until the dentist. You could also try to find emergency dentist services, these are basically like ER/Urgent care for dental issues/injuries. Just make sure you respond quickly to any worsening or concerning symptoms by getting him evaluated.

Must see Dentist: The gum boil may be related to infection or severe plaque deposit on the adjacent tooth your Dentist should take xray to find the cause. Just giving Clindamycin without knowing the cause is not advised . If the gum boil does not worsen and there is no pain and no temperature , it is better to wait for the Dentist appointment . Gum boil should be ruled out for Viral infection .
