An 8mm Nodule: Is too small to give any symptoms. If it is cancer it would continue to grow and grow. Large nodules that obstruct airways cause shortness of breath and coughing and sometimes bleeding in the lung.

Probably none: Most lung nodules are asymptomatic when they are small(1-2cm). It is a good idea to monitor it and recheck it in 2 months and see if it is growing in size. If it gets over 1cm in size, it would be suspected as an infection(fungal infections can do this) or it could be cancer but lung cancer would be rare under 40 years of age even in a smoker cancer.
