Yes and no: It takes up to 6 weeks for extraction site to heal swelling should be the most after 48 hrs and start going down it is unusual to be there after 16 days keep on rinsing with warm water and salt and schedule to see your dentist for post op.

See your dentist: It is not normal. See an oral surgeon or the dentist. Pain and swelling following dental extraction is usually at its worst 24 – 48 hours after surgery, after that it should subside more and more every day and after 7 days stop. If pain persists or worsens, it may require attention and you should call your dentist or oral surgeon for re-evaluation and x-ray appointment.
