Yes: It is done all the time... Assuming you have it done by a well trained dentist. Who does it is more important than where it is done. Training and experience are important.

Normally either: Most of the time, the extractions can be done at the oral surgery clinic unless their are some major health concerns that require a hospital setting- bleeding disorder, heart problems, etc.

Safe: If you have any compromised health or systemic issues that put you at risk, such as bleeding disorders, or are on multiple medications, you may want to be at a hospital setting for your surgery, otherwise, if you're healthy, you're generally okay to have surgery done at private practice clinics and/or oral surgeons' clinics.
