Need more: Info here. Many leukemias will have an elevated wbc, but also could be up as a "reactive" change with solid tumors, or tumor associated infection.

Lymohoma & Leukemia: Lymphomas and leukemias can raise white blood cell counts. Most other types of cancer will not. A CBC is usually not useful for ruling out cancer. If a white blood cell count is elevated and there are no other signs or symptoms of infection, a work up is needed.
