A member asked:

I have stubborn acne blemishes on my face. i wanna start using a cream containin 6% glycolic acid. will it help? what are the chances of an allergy?

Scientific Rx: I appreciate your frustration. If two weeks on topical benzoyl peroxide has not cleared you, you are unlikely to get a good result with glycolic acid alone. Your personal physician's prescription-strength rx can clear you but you'll need to work with him/her over the long haul until your disease remits. Do what you need to and best wishes.
