Overdo: In theory; but it s not indicated (off label) and hard to justify the risks involved (agranulocytosis, seizures, death) not to mention the monitoring required. It should not be an alternative.

It is not indicated for treatment of insomnia. Clozaril should only be used for treatment-resistant schizophrenia (after failing 2 other treatments) due to the potential for life-threatening side effects.

Thanks for asking!: Clozaril (clozapine) has many severe side effects. There are sleep medications with mild side effects. Consult your psychiatrist.

Insomnia: That would be like using a cannon instead of a fly swatter to kill a fly. Clozapine (brand names: Versacloz, FazaClo, Clozaril) is an antipsychotic medication used as a treatment for refractory Schizophrenia & for Schizophrenia or Schizoaffective Disorder associated with recurrent suicidal behavior. It has been used off-label for refractory bipolar disorder, intermittent explosive disorder & PTSD
