Lymph nodes: Your doctor might want to consider a needle biopsy to determine the status of your lymph nodes.

Consider biopsy if: Lymph nodes have increased in size and/or become more round (less like a kidney bean), especially in cancer patients, unless another possibility such as infection is likely. The lymph nodes need to be in a location where biopsy is possible, but the location is usually not a problem with ct guided biopsy.
