A member asked:

What is a ductus bump? can it be easily misdiagnosed? if so, what other problems look similar on a chest ct scan?

Bump on vessel: A ductus bump is a "bump out" on the side of the arch of the aorta in the chest. It has a characteristic appearance on the ct scan so it is likely to be diagnosed correctly. Ask your doctor to show you the scan so that you both can make sure it is not a lymph node or small blood vessel that is running next to the aorta instead of a bump.
