A member asked:

Why would my d dimer always be slightly elevated? it was 1.87 recently. my ct of chest clear. i have severe anxiety and panic. im worried i have a clotting problem or they missed a clot that may be in my legs. why do they scan only chest?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Units of measure: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, if your result is in conventional units, your D-Dimer is not elevated. Wish you good health!
