One possibility is fibrosis or scarring of the lung which reduces lung capacity. This may result in symptoms depending on the severity. Some of the associated symptoms include shortness of breath. If you have chest tightness and wheezing, bronchospasm is likely. A six minute walk test, cardiac evaluation and further physiologic testing may be indicated. Watch for signs of shortness of breath.

It is likely that you have long term complications from the infection and PE. Establishing with a pulmonary specialist and having serial pulmonary function tests along with pulmonary rehab depending on findings would be best at this point.
