Can mild chronic depression be successfully treated?

Yes: Depression can be treated. However, your treatment plan must be tailored to your particular experience of depression. It might be a good idea to start with psychotherapy with a psychologist to understand your symptoms. Then you and the psychologist can talk about whether getting a medication evaluation will be helpful. Be well!

Sure: Definitely yes but the best treatment will vary from person to person. Some will need medications, some will need psychotherapy and some will need a combination of both.

DEPRESSION: Get an evaluation from a psychiatrist to help identify what depression means to you and whatever else may be bothering you. Consider recommendations for medication if any are given. Get a referral for a reputable psychotherapist to speak with. Meds and therapy combined are most optimal; no just one or the other.
