A member asked:

Would having clinical depression (mild) on my record hurt my chances of becoming a police officer?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

I don't think so: I have treated police officers and they continued to work. Treatment should be confidential and is a sign of strength that someone sought help. I think that having depression gives a person more empathy towards other people's problems which is a good trait for a police officer.
