Varies.: It's a very individual response. Some people seem to tolerate what can be considered unsafe levels for extended periods without much damage to their livers, while others don't tolerate even moderate amounts. It's a cumulative effect. The more you drink and for the longest period, the more likely to develop liver disease. Nutrition is important too. Poor nutrition makes it more likely to develop.
