Veins: You could have some thrombis or clotting in your veins. See a vascular surgeon and have a venous doppler done to be sure. A vascular surgeon can also give you a treatment plan for those painful veins. Good luck.

Multiple symptoms: Varicose veins can cause many symptoms including pain, aching, swelling, cramping , heaviness, tired legs or even restless legs. When these is pain it is often times associated with a clot in the vein (superficial phlebitis). The most common symptom of varicose veins is aching of the legs. It would be prudent to see a vein specialist for a full venous evaluation with a venous ultrasound.

Varicose veins: Since varicose veins are under high pressure (normal veins are under low pressure), it is typically the pressure build-up that causes the discomfort (achiness and tenderness). As the veins get engorged and stretch, the small nerve endings in the vein wall also stretch and lead to the discomfort. The treatment is to have the veins examined by a Vein Specialist and have them repaired.
