Leg Pain: See a Vascular Surgeon to have your circulation checked. After a full vascular workup, your Specialist can determine the severity of your disease and how best to address or correct it. Your overall vascular health should be evaluated to determine the most appropriate treatment. Managing your risk factors are also important.

Leg Ulcers: Leg ulcers related to varicose veins can be caused by Chronic Venous Insufficiency. This means that the valves in your veins are not working properly to return blood to the heart. The slow moving blood & fluid begin to pool around the legs & can cause swollen veins that rupture. See a Vascular Surgeon immediately for evaluation and treatment to avoid infection, reoccurring ulcers and limb loss

Leg Heaviness: There are a number of issues that could cause leg heaviness, namely Venous Insufficiency. This condition occurs when the valves in your veins become incompetent and do not do a good job at returning the blood to your heart. The blood begins to pool in the legs, leaving them heavy and often swollen, discolored, itchy and can cause ulcers and bulging veins. See a Vascular Surgeon .

This was very helpful. Thanks! Thank you. I've since had blood work and an ultrasound, so far no answers to explain what's going on. I'll find a vasular surgeon in my area.
