Follow up: You always have the option to start glucophage (metformin) but at this time, i'm not sure if you need it. Your a1c is normal but current blood sugars are high. Either you are progressing in your pre-diabetes or the labs are wrong. I recommend continue to follow this and make sure it's not progressing. Get another a1c in 3 months. Treatment for prediabetes is diet and weight control.
