Discuss w your doc: The best way is to discuss it with your treating physician. Short term, it can cause salt and water retention, thus increase blood pressure, gaining weight. It also increases your blood sugar, irritates your stomach and can cause stomach bleeding. Long term affects are many including the risk of osteopenia or losing your bone mass in prolonged use.
