Does crohn's affect menstruation? my period was 2 weeks late and has lasted 11 days, this is very unusual for me. i'm on imuran, asacol, (mesalamine) & prednisone.

Period: It is possible to have an altered menstrual cycle during acute illness and additionally the Imuran (azathioprine) may also alter your cycle itself.

Each drug can, but..: Each of your drugs can affect your periods, but your disease is quite likely to do so as well. Any illness associated with inflammation can do this. Active crohn's is almost always associated with an increased crp. This is the first start!

Meds maybe more so: Your medicines may be more likely to affect menstruation than the crohn's itself, unless the disease is really active right now. Prednisone affects multiple endocrine systems, including sex hormone regulation.
