Bone pain may occur.: Blastomycosis is caused by the blastomyces fungus which is often found in decomposing matter & moist soil. It is usually in areas near the Great Lakes, the Ohio River and the Mississippi River. When there are symptoms they may include chest or back pain, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, chills, night sweats, skin lesions, muscle & joint pain, fever & weight loss.
