Trauma: Most collar bone fractures are the result of a direct blow or indirect force such as falling on your shoulder. Cycylists enjoy lots of collar bone fractures as do snow boarders and collisions sports participants.

Falls: Typically these injuries occur with falls from a bike or other activities where on might land on their shoulder. Sometimes the clavicle (collarbone) fractures and sometimes the ac joint gets the brunt and gets injured.
