Possibly: A burning sensation, if different from what you have previously felt and less than a year from your injury could be a sign the nerve is getting better. Discuss it with your treating dentist.

Maybe: Need more information on the injury, however if you are getting feeling back that is generally good. Was the nerve crushed, torn or partially/totally cut? Where is the nerve located and how long since the injury occurred?

Perhaps: When there is nerve trauma following surgery, the nerve may heal in different ways depending on how the nerve was injured, and the severity of the injury. Let's hope for the best. Keep smiling !

Not Usually: Nerve injury can manifest itself in several ways. A 'burning' sensation is a poor prognostic indicator. Different types of trauma will cause different symptoms. Burning often becomes a centralized issue just like phantom limb syndrome. I perfom a vast number of microneurosurgical repairs and this is often the case. See an oms with microneurosurgery experience.
