ATYPICAL ODONTALGIA: There are no big nerves in the maxilla (upper jaw bone). However, it is a possibility after any dental procedure even a simple teeth cleaning to develop neuropathic disorder called ao due to the small nerves damage. It is a rare condition and although ao occurs in both sexes, several studies indicate that most patients are women in the fourth or fifth decade.
