Prolapse=sag ?: As young as ur u haven't any consequences of mitral prolapse. But the echo can pick this up as it will show a little back flow after the chamber contracts. A very sensitive test & u need 2 discuss how bad it is & what u need 2 b aware of.

MVP: — mitral valve prolapse (mvp) is a common cause of mitral regurgitation (mr). Although most patients with mvp have mild, trivial, or no mr [1], it is the most common cause of surgical mr in developed countries [2]. Other potential complications include infective endocarditis and arrhythmias. The diagnosis of mvp is suspected on physical examination and confirmed by echocardiography.
