See a Dentist: No medications are going to stop your wisdom tooth from trying to erupt, nor are they going to protect it from future problems, like infections. Most wisdom teeth don't have room to erupt properly and completely, so they are very difficult to clean and maintain for a lifetime. Have your dentist evaluate whether yours will come in straight and can be kept, or if they should be removed. Forget meds.

Call ur dentist: Take otc pain meds if it is hurting you, and call your dentist if the meds to not help. Many people need the wisdom teeth extracted due to lack of space in their mouths.

OTC and DDS: You can take advil, motrin, aleve (naproxen) or what you would normally take for a headache. Rinsing with some warm salt water (1 teaspoon in glass) may help as well. However, even if it gets rid of your discomfort, call your dentist and make an appointment for him\her to evaluate whether or not your wisdom tooth should be removed as there is a potential for even more serious problems.
