How long does it take for penicillan to heal a wisdom tooth?

Dr. James Bates

Wisdom tooth: Penicillin, or any antibiotic, for that matter, can't "heal" a wisdom tooth. If the wisdom tooth is infected, it should most likely be removed, and that will solve the problem. That said, penicillin is usually prescribed for a 10-day course, and it's important to finish the whole prescription. The infection may improve, but is likely to recur as long as the wisdom tooth is the problem. See an oral.
