Does a tooth with a calcified canal need root canal?

Canal Calcification: Typiclly you would not see canal calcification in someone your age unless the tooth was traumatized at some time in your past. If the tooth is asymptomatic, then you may or may not need the tooth treated. If it continues to calcify , then root canal may not be possible. So you need to discuss this with an endodontist.

Maybe: If the tooth is nonvital because the calcification has destroyed the pulp tissue, it may or may not need root canal therapy. If there is no pain or any area around the apex of the tooth on an xray, do nothing. If there is a decalcified area around the apex, and/or there is pain, do the endo.
