Could be: Keflex (cephalexin) is good for skin structure infections, so it should provide relatively broad coverage for an insect bite. If not getting better, than let the rx'ing dr. Know and a repeat evaluation and possible testing with change of antibiotics may be warranted. Best wishes.

Centipede bites: Centipede bites are painful, last about two days (not counting the wound healing), and almost never fatal.There are four major classes of centipede. All are poisonous, with legs that modified into mandidles/injectors. The degree of danger depends on the size of the centipede. Secondary infections may occur and are treated according to the organism causing it. Cephalexin may be ok in many.

Infection: Agree w dr, munshower & dr. Raff regarding antibiotic coverage. The issue is about what the infecting organism is. General info: a centipede pinches the skin with hollowed legs that inject venom. This will leave 2 puncture wounds w pain, redness & swelling. Deaths possibly related to centipede bites in the United States are extremely rare. Wash the wound with water & soap. You can take tylenol (acetaminophen) >.
