Further work up: Alpha lipoic acid and other supplements can often help decrease the sensory symptoms of neuropathy. They may be able prevent progression of the motor deficits (like foot drop) but does not usually return motor function by itself. See a neurologist or physiatrist to make sure that there are no other factors and that you are doing the appropriate rehab (stretching/strengthening).
