It's not middle ear: Middle ear infections don't cause facial swelling. You may have an outer ear canal infection called swimmers ear or external otitis. See an ENT doctor now.

Most people...: ...With middle ear infections do not have facial swelling. See a doctor - mastoiditis and mumps, and mono are three of the many possibilities.
