Soreness: Could be from injection site when numbing the greater palatine nerve or from some soft tissue reflection during the procedure. Should subside within a few days.

Rare but could occur: You may feel sore due to the needle injected on the palatal side of the extraction site to get the tooth numb. If the extraction is a surgical extraction, inflammation could cause the area to feel sore. With antibiotics and may be anti-inflammatory drug giving pre and post op, you should be fine in 3 days (when you find out if you have dry socket or not).
