Yes: Same process as baby teeth erupting. Tylenol and topical anesthetic. Keep area clean.

I've never seen it: By the time a kid starts loosing/gaining teeth again at 6 or older they can verbalize their discomforts. I can't recall ever evaluating a kid for fever that had adult teeth coming in and no other reason for their fever. Discomfort yes, fever, i doubt.

Teething is: Sadly a "naturally traumatic" process. Manifestations of teething vary by the individual. With that said, it is possible to spike a fever during teething. Tylenol (acetaminophen) is helpful. Hope this helps.

Erupting Baby Teeth: Although some parents strongly believe this does happen, and despite the association from as long as i can remember practicing dentistry (40 yrs), there is no scientific evidence to support this claim. Irritability, and excessive salivation? Probably. Fever? No.
