Fever: This is possible, but fever may be due to other issues and would need more info and a face to face exam to exclude other possible causes. Fever over 102 f is seldom due to cutting teeth. Watch your son carefully for other symptoms and have him seen by a doctor if this does not resolve quickly. Good luck and hope this turns out to be nothing serious..

Yes and no: According to the literature a fever of less than 100.2 isn't unusual. That said, fever can be from a cold or other causes. Ask your dentist to check the incoming tooth to make sure it's erupting ok.

Entirely related: A low grade fever will most often result in a when teeth are coming in. Look to for increased salivation too. Take a bit of fever reducing medicine recommended by your doctor and allow child to chew on frozen rag to provide relief.
