Typhoid: Therapeutic responses in this disease will vary with the antibiotic used and the sensitivity of the strain with which one is infected, as well as when in the course of treatment the drugs were begun. It is not obvious how your father's disease is not responding. Give more info and can provide further responses. It isn't unusual for fever to persist despite treatment, but will eventually decline.
