Not necessarily : If what you have is a classic middle ear infection then the fluid in your middle ear can last for a while. If you have no more pain then you can try to clear the fluid by holding your nose and trying to blow your fingers off your nose while keeping your nose held tight. This maneuver is what we call "clearing your ears". You don't want to force it but just start gently and increase the pressure.
