Diseases: That is a broad question so i will give you a broad answer. Many infectious disease left untreated will cause death within weeks. The reason our life span has increased is due to the vaccines and antibiotics we have at our disposal. As a result our life span has increased from age 40 at the turn of the 20 th century to 75 yesrs plus , today.
