How does clomid (clomiphene) work to "trick the brain" into thinking the levels of estrogen in the body are low?

Receptors: Clomid (clomiphene) binds to the estrogen receptors. Normally estrogen binds to those receptors. But the Clomid (clomiphene) does not bind in the same way and so the end result is that the receptors are not as active. And so the body then does not think there is a lot of estrogen around so the brain makes more fsh to grow eggs and more more estrogen.
