Depends: If it is superficial, wash it well and put a band-aid. If you feel it my be deeper you should have it evaluated by a doctor. Deep cuts to the thumb can injure nerves, tendons, blood vessels and even bones. Additionally, poor scarring can restrict your range of motion.
