Periodontal disease: Bleeding when you are brushing is not healthy. It is a sign of gum disease. Healthy gums do not bleed while brushing. The treatment starts with a complete dental exam to find out the severity of the disease. Then your teeth need to be cleaned with a procedure called periodontal scaling, which will remove the bacteria and toxins and a home care routine will be established with you.

Bleeding: Bleeding gums is due to inflammation. Good hygiene, including proper brushing and flossing will lower plaque and inflammation. You must see your dentist regularly to get off the stuff you can't get to. Other possibilities may be existing perio disease, bad fitting restorations that allow build up or nastier bacteria that are out of the norm. If your dentist can't rectify see a periodontist.
