Developmental: Normally white spots on the edges were because the enamel formation was disrupted before the teeth erupted. If you had braces and didn't brush well, the acid condition may have caused a demineralization of the teeth. Talk to a dentist if they bother you. Options may include micro-abrasion, bonding, or the use of mi paste for remineralization.

Hypocalcification?: They could be areas of hypocalcification. The history of the spots is important. Were the spots always there or more recent? Your dentist will review your specific condition and suggest treatment options.
