No: Cough medicine for youngsters may do more harm than good. First, make sure the asthma is under control else you end up getting into more trouble by suppressing the cough. During a cold, your doctor may even prescribe a short-course of oral cortisone to get the child out of asthma. Honey may work for cough some times but you need to know the cause for the cough first.
