A member asked:

My 4 year old son always had a cough. his pedia say, he has asthma. for more than a year now, every month he takes medicine. is this still normal?

Yea: Persistent cough particularly night time coughing which may also include wheezing is often one of the most common symptoms of asthma. If he is coughing that much, it doesn't sound like his asthma is well controlled. He should probably be on a preventative medicine that he takes daily rather than just a rescue medicine (albuterol).
