When i get a cold it takes 3 weeks to get over it, longer if i have a cough. i have asthma too , could that be why it takes longer to recover ?

Yes: Asthma is a common reason why a cough lasts for a few weeks after a cold, but a long-lasting cough is becoming more and more common, even in people without asthma. I am seeing the cough from a cold virus last 6-12 weeks much more commonly than it did 10-20 years ago.
