Trauma, hypertension: The most common cause is trauma to the nose. Some patients do have severe hypertension.

Several reasons: High blood pressure is one possible cause, taking too much Aspirin or Plavix might be another, do you take coumadin (warfarin)? Or you could have a bad blood vessel in your nose that justbleeds easily, make sure your nose isn't drying out, dry air can make it crack and bleed.
