Sounds like my wife: Same age, complaints ; symptoms. She had tb! this was only cultured from concentrated pleural fluid. Being a diabetic some of the meds increase the risk of developing tb.

Sputum negative for bacteria, afb, fungus ?No h/o emhysema or bronchitis! on no meds?Is it from lung or stomach at night?Serious symptoms wt loss, high sed rate, fever ; back pain. Tb of spine, clot, fungal, tight mitral valve, wegner's granuloma ; primary or secondary cancers work up needed. Please see your doctor for good history, thorough exam ; exhaustive work up.
