No: Depending on what is being requested and the body habits of the patient, the ultrasound (us) technician can image the liver, gallbladder, spleen, kidneys and pancreas routinely. The colon and intestines are not imaged, usually because the gas and stool interfere with us examination. Usually pelvic organs, such as bladder, uterus, ovaries and prostate require a different us probe.

Yes: Ultrasound can give three dimensional measurements of most organs height, depth, and width. Most common organs measured are kidneys, spleen, liver, ovaries, uterus, bladder, and two dimensional measurements of appendix aorta, and inferior vena cava. Of course if tumor or lymph nodes present these can be measured.
