Solid Organs: An ultrasound of the abdomen is an excellent way of looking at solid-(liver, kidney, uterus, ovaries, spleen) and fluid-filled (gallbladder) organs; "not so much" for hollow ones such as the intestine. A ct scan often provides complimentary and/or corroborating information and is better for some solid organs (pancreas).

See details.: This may depend on the place where it is done but usually it will include the liver, spleen, gallbladder, bile vessels, kidneys, adrenals and great vessels. Bowel gas may interfere with seeing all the above.
