Need better control : This suggests that your asthma is not well controlled and the heavy coughing has led to costochrondritis (inflammation of the rib joints). Need to see your doctor.

See your doctor: Asthma can cause a chronic cough and chest pain. Coughing itself due to any reason can cause a pulled chest muscle and more chest pain. You may need an inhaler to open up your airways. See your doctor or an allergist.
